Praying to the saints...
so i found a very good article about
praying
to the saints...i found this during my search for why catholics pray to mary -
mother of Jesus...it really helped me understand why they pray to saints...and
thus why they pray to mary also...
now this is not to say that i now believe the same way...but i now know that the
big difference is the idea of death...they do not see death the same way i
do...i do not know that this fully explains the difference because i do
not know that i fully understand what happens when you die...but my thoughts
leaned towards something not immediate...i always thought ascension to heaven
happened after Jesus returned...
the one line that really gets me in this article is "If the mere fact that we can
go straight to Jesus proved that we should ask no Christian in heaven to pray for
us then it would also prove that we should ask no Christian on earth to pray for us."
...this only makes sense if you believe in the same death scenario that he believes
in...so now that i think i know where they come from on this i need to research
the whole death thing...that was pretty painless and short for a second religious
article...
