Living is for Christ...

Philippians 1:21
To live is Christ, and to die is gain.

now this is two different translations of my current favorite verse...the first one is out of my new Bible and the second one is the way i first heard it and memorized it...

Philippians 1:22-24
Yet if I live, that means fruitful service for Christ. I really don't know which is better. I'm torn between two desires: Sometimes I want to live, and sometimes I long to go and be with Christ. That would be far better for me, but it is better for you that I live.

so i think he pretty much sums it up with that...if you are saved then dying would be wonderful but we must stay and have "fruitful service for Christ."... which brings up the question of what is fruitful service...luckily i read Romans last night and found these verses...

Romans 12:6-8
God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you. If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching. If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

i will have to think about that...about my ability or abilities...
